Youth Together’s Student Organizer Featured In Vogue’s News Article

Oakland teachers have been fighting for a 12% raise, more investments in student services, a reduction in class sizes, an end to school closures, and the hiring of more nurses and counselors.

Students from six Oakland high schools stood beside them to support the cause by organizing their own sickout, where they have written a press release, wrote to both teachers and the district, organized a march, and announced it on social media. One of Youth Together’s student organizers, Joequisha Hill, took part in the strike to support the teachers of Oakland. To read more, click this link.
